In the fall of 2022, the future of JFK promenade was uncertain. A ballot measure to re-open the street to cars was introduced. In response, Illuminate and San Francisco Recreation and Parks, and Paint the Void were tasked with curating murals across the Promenade to show the city of the potential playground that this street can continue to be.
