Cosmic Garden, Google Inc. Mountain View Campus, CA, April 2022

Two years ago, (thanks to Emily Fromm) I found myself amongst an incredibly talented team of artists painting a site-specific installation with @spmdesign for @googleinc’s new campus at @nasa’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. It was recently announced that The Google Bay View Campus has won 2023’s Interior Design Award for Best Large Tech Office.

I worked on a project called Pedal Park, an interactive indoor bicycle park designed to inspire active employees and engagement with the environment. It was massive, spanning over 630 sq ft, making it my largest installation to date. Naturally, it became my ultimate goal to somehow incorporate glittery two-headed space snakes into this concept. There is just something about their undulating bodies, twisting and turning over one another, and wrapping around the architecture that honestly feels like it has no business being indoors, let alone in an office setting. Naturally, I was completely shocked when my design was accepted. Luckily this whimsical idea was perfectly aligned with their overall vision.
